How To Set Your 2024 Goals With Goal Setting Template Free Printables
Definitely, setting 2024 goals can be a pretty overwhelming process.
As you know, there are many aspects that need to be taken into consideration.
For instance, where do I start? What does it mean for me? How will I accomplish them? And how can I make this process more fun and engaging?
To ease the stress of setting goals for 2024, here’s a step-by-step guide to help you get started.
In other words, it’s time to get your free monthly goals calendar template, sit down, and do some planning.
Step 1: Do A Brain Dump Session (Brain Dump Goals Journal Template)
First and foremost, you need to write down what you want to achieve.
With this in mind, grab a random piece of paper or use this brain dump goal sheet template.
Undoubtedly, it’ll help you brainstorm your 2024 goals list.
Just do your best to write down at least ten goals that inspire you the most.
In general, the more ideas you come up with, the better.
Indeed, you can always discard the ones you don’t like as soon as they’re written down.
Once you’re done, ask yourself why.
Why do you want to achieve this specific thing you put on your brain dump list?
In other words, think about each of your 2024 goals thoroughly.
Basically, you want to make sure you’re really willing to do what it takes to achieve this specific goal.
On the other hand, if your goal isn’t aligned with your values, that’s okay too.
It just means that there might be another goal for this year that simply makes more sense.
Step 2: Prioritize Your Goals (Personal Goal Setting Template Free Printable)
Now that you have a list of ideas, it’s time to reorder them according to what you want to accomplish the most.
In fact, you create the ultimate 2024 goals list.
With this in mind, you take your ten, fifteen, or twenty goals from the previous step and sort them, according to their priority.
Also, keep in mind that there are no right or wrong answers here.
It doesn’t matter if your goal list is different than someone else’s.
This is about what you want to accomplish, not the other way around.
To make it a little bit easier, here are some helpful questions you may want to answer:
1) What do I absolutely need to experience in order for 2024 to be a successful year?
2) How important is this goal to me?
3) What does it mean if I don’t accomplish this?
4) How will I feel about myself if I don’t get the results I want?
5) Is there a project/job/class that has to get done before I can focus on my 2024 goals list?
However, if you still find yourself stuck, here are two additional exercises that help you prioritize your goals.
Your Life Vision
First of all, creating your dream life vision is a simple exercise where you describe the most important features of your perfect life.
Similar to creating a vision board, you make a timeline of your life by putting onto paper all those wonderful things that make you smile.
For instance, it could be as simple as traveling the world, opening a bakery, or having a happy family.
Here are some questions that can help you out:
1) What do I want my life to look like ten years from now?
2) What are the things I must do in order to make that happen?
3) Am I doing them right now?
4) Am I ready to do them in order to accomplish that vision of my life ten years from now?
Once you finish, ask yourself which of your goals for 2024 from the first step, are aligned with your vision.
Level 10 Life Chart
Alternatively, filling out a Level 10 life chart can be helpful in order to prioritize your yearly goals.
Basically, you asses ten different life areas from 0 to 10.
0 means that you don’t feel satisfied at all with your current situation.
On the other hand, 10 means that you are extremely happy and fulfilled where you are in life right now.
Definitely, it’s my favorite exercise because you get in touch with your feelings and find what’s most important.
You just need to use life categories and assess them honestly without being judgmental.
Once you complete this process, choose only these goals that support your journey.
Your journey towards improving your life in specific areas of your choice (hint: they don’t have to be the worst-rated ones)
Step 3: Set Your 2024 Goals (Goal Setting Template Free Worksheet)
Once you have a general idea of your goals, it’s time to get more specific.
When filling out your yearly goals, use SMART criteria:
- specific: Make it clear what you want to accomplish.
- measurable: How will you know when you’ve succeeded?
- aligned with your values: Will this goal help contribute to a life that is meaningful to you?
- realistic: Can you make this happen within the next 12 months?
- time-bound: When and how will you measure your success?
For example, if one of your goals is to run a marathon, it’s specific and measurable.
However, if you want to “get in shape”, it might be too broad for this time frame and probably won’t happen.
Another example could be if one of your goals is to pay off $1000 worth of debt, it’s specific and measurable.
It’s also realistic since it should take you less than a year.
On the other, I want to be rich kind of goal is definitely too vague.
Also, don’t forget that without motivation, discipline is useless.
Once again, make sure your goals are aligned with your values.
Step 4: Create An Action Plan (Yearly Goal Setting Template Free Printable)
Undoubtedly, setting goals without taking any kind of action is a waste of time.
So once you have all the pieces of the puzzle, it’s time to take action.
For instance, you can organize your goals into three categories:
- long-term: 8 to 12 months from now
- medium-term: 4 to 7 months from now
- short-term: the next three months
Along with this, it can be helpful if you start with your end goal and work backward from there.
Step 5: Set Monthly Goals (Monthly Goals Template)
Now that you have your yearly goals in place, let’s get more specific.
As a rule, your monthly calendar includes a to-do list that supports your major yearly goals in achieving them.
For this reason, working with your 2024 monthly goals template is extremely important.
Basically, it’s a goal tracker where you have all of your monthly goals, gathered in one place.
Also, there’s a place to write down the steps you need to follow, a deadline (so crucial), and a reward.
Step 6: Plan Your Week (Weekly Goals Template)
If there’s a time in the week when you feel stuck, I know a perfect way how to get your momentum back.
Definitely, you should schedule your week ahead.
These weekly goal templates allow you to create a weekly schedule with ease.
You can use a weekly printable planner to support both your goals and tasks for the month.
Essentially you’re prioritizing and creating a plan that will lead to success.
This weekly goals template includes a weekly planner, a top priorities list, to-dos, and a place for notes.
Step 7: Plan Your Day (Daily Goal Planner Template)
Also, every day brings new opportunities.
However, only with the right mindset, you’ll be able to take advantage of them.
For this reason, you really want to plan your day as well.
For example, this daily schedule template with time slots includes a daily planner, top priorities, a to-do list, and notes.
Speaking of priorities, sometimes it’s so hard to determine the most important daily tasks.
Especially, if you have a lot on your plate.
With this in mind, I created two additional goal-setting pdf free downloads.
Priority Matrix
The idea behind this time-management tool is to determine your daily tasks according to their importance and urgency.
Basically, the priority matrix consists of four parts:
- Important – Urgent: tasks you need to do it now
- Important – Not Urgent: tasks you can leave for later (but plan them)
- Not Important – Urgent: tasks you delegate (tasks that need to be done asap but don’t bring any value – at least for you)
- Not Important – Not Urgent: tasks you have to delete
Pomodoro Tracker
Definitely, using a Pomodoro tracker allows you to free yourself from distractions.
The idea is simple.
All you have to do is break down your work into 25 minutes-long intervals separated by 5-minute breaks.
When you’re done, take a longer, 20-30-minute break.
As a result, you create a space where you can focus on one thing at a time without getting distracted.
Step 8: Stay Motivated & Reward Yourself (Goal Setting Template Free Pdf)
When it comes to motivation, there are a few things that have worked for me 100% of the time.
It gives me power and control over my mindset, even when I feel like giving up.
Habit Tracker
One way to keep yourself motivated is by using a free printable habit tracker template.
Basically, it allows you to track your progress for an entire month.
As a result, you’re able to notice progress.
Not only does it give you a sense of achievement, but also it boosts self-confidence.
If there’s something that I want to remind you about, is that goal setting isn’t easy.
But if you can keep yourself accountable and stay consistent, your habits will seriously pay off.
30-Day Challenge
Another way to keep yourself motivated is by joining a 30-day challenge.
This is a great way to master your habits and focus on them for 30 days in a row without distractions.
Monthly Review
Undoubtedly, keeping a monthly review page in your goal planner is a great way to reflect on your progress.
It’s also an opportunity to celebrate small wins and recognize the things you’re doing well.
This is the perfect place to notice your strengths, be grateful, and praise yourself for all of your hard work.
