What is Level 10 Life
Undoubtedly, setting up goals helps you declutter and organize your everyday life.
However, sometimes it’s hard to be specific about what do you really want.
Generally, you may be influenced by your family’s opinion, society’s demands, or even social media.
At the same time, you feel lost and have no clue what you want to do with your life.

Firstly, level 10 life is an amazing exercise created by Hal Elrod in his book “The Miracle Morning”.
Basically, it’s a great tool to:
- plan your life goals
- determine priorities
- set good habits
- evaluate where are you at this particular moment and where you want to be
- assess whether you’ve successfully improved and what you should focus on next
- check-in with your goals
Additionally, according to Hal Elrod’s definition,
“If we’re measuring our levels of success/satisfaction in any area of our lives, we all want to be living our best lives at a ‘Level 10’ in each area. Creating your ‘Level 10 Life’ begins with creating an honest assessment of where you are.”
Hal Elrod
In other words, level 10 life shows your life as a wheel divided into ten categories.
As a rule, the most popular level 10 life areas of life are:
- health
- family
- relationships
- fitness
- nutrition
- personal growth
- finances
- career
- home
- spirituality
Obviously, these are only the most common category ideas and feel free to customize them.
How to Start Level 10 Life in a Bullet Journal
In order to start a Level 10 Life exercise in your bujo, you need to:
- create a wheel of life with categories
- describe your ideal life
- evaluate your life for each category from 0 to 10 accordingly
- list life goals
- set daily habits
Create a Level 10 Life Satisfaction Wheel
Firstly, you have to create a wheel of life pie chart divided into 10 parts that each one representing a specific area of life for goal setting.
Alternatively, you can make a simple column chart.
Describe Your Ideal Life with Journal Prompts
Secondly, describe the life you want to live in.
For instance, write down:
- where do you want to be next year
- where do you want to be in 5 years
- what would be the most amazing thing that could happen next year
- what is something you want always to do but you‘re too afraid
Assess Your Life with Level 10 Life Areas Assessment
Then, you evaluate if you’re in a good place within each area of life.
In this case, all you have to do is to rate each area from 0 (not at all satisfied) to 10 (completely satisfied).
So don’t overthink and write down how do you feel about your relationships, health, job, etc right now.
Definitely, keep in mind that there is no right or wrong answer.
Basically, just relax and be honest with yourself.

Set Goals
Then, the next step is to determine your goals and put them down in your level 10 life bullet journal spread.
Overall, it’s proven that people who write down goals are more likely to accomplish them.
Also, you can always prioritize your living areas. Some of them may have more impact on your life than others.
So, most importantly, there’s no need to start with the ones with a low rate.
Above all, it’s your decision on how intentional and strategic you want to be.
Set Daily Habits
Once you’ve done it, you set 2-3 daily habits for each goal that will lead you to improve your rates and live a dream life.
In most cases, setting goals is the easiest part of reinventing your life.
Practically, it’s almost effortless to set up a few minutes throughout the day and write down where you want to be next year or in five years.
Definitely, the biggest challenge appears when you try to stick with them.
In other words, it’s a lot harder to get a job done through daily routines, responsibilities, family life, and career.
So, after a short time of being extremely motivated, your enthusiasm slows down.
Therefore, in order to stay on the right path, it’s crucial to focus on developing daily habits instead of thinking about reaching your goals over and over again.
“Success is a few good habits repeated every day, failure is a few bad decisions repeated every day”
Jim Rohn
Track Your Personal Growth
Finally, after you complete your level 10 life bullet journal worksheet, it’s time to focus on the process.
Now, when you see your life priorities more clearly, you can plan actionable steps.
As I mentioned before, I prefer working with quarterly goals.
For that reason, I break them through smaller monthly goals.
So, based on them, I create a to-do list in my bujo weekly spread.
Additionally, I put these 2 or 3 daily habits in the monthly habit tracker for staying accountable.
Then, I use a daily log as a review page to evaluate my progress and give feedback to myself on what I’ve done throughout the day.
Overall, many of you ask me how often you should update your chart.
Because I like working with quarterly goals, it’s every 3 months. But you can do it as often as you like.
